Psychological Testing
This service will be provided by a licensed clinical psychologist.
Psychological assessments consist of conducting a comprehensive series of testing that examines an individual’s cognitive, achievement, personality, behavioral, and emotional functioning. Testing tools utilized will assess academic and projective functioning of individuals. This service is offered to both children and adults and can be very beneficial in supporting treatment planning, mental health diagnoses, medication management, court testimony, and addressing school problems. The assessment typically consists of two 3-hour testing sessions and can be tailored to accommodate the clinical needs of each client uniquely. Actual length of testing may be adjusted depending on the specific clinical questions to be addressed. Upon completion of the assessment, a written psychological report will be furnished with treatment recommendations and a face to face session with client/family to review the report conclusions. This review session is included in the cost of the service. A psychological assessment can be beneficial in answering specific questions regarding an individual’s learning style, cognitive functioning, contributing factors towards behavioral and relational interactions or diagnosing/ruling out the following conditions:
- Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)*
- Learning Disabilities
- Axis I Diagnosis such as: Bipolar Disorder, Anxiety, Depression, Post-traumatic Stress Disorder, and Eating Disorders
*Specific testing for ADD or ADHD can be done at a partial testing rate. This testing is a shorter time period of testing and interpretation. This focuses more on assessing attention and ability to control impulsive behavior.
