Ashley Kemnitz is currently the Director of the Petersburg Site of National Counseling Group. Ms. Kemnitz is a 2004 graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (VT). Ms. Kemnitz has extensive knowledge and experience working with at risk youth and adults in both the community and residential settings. During her time at Virginia Tech, Ashley helped to development the first crisis hotline in the New River Valley which was connected to the community services board of Montgomery County. In addition to this, she interned with the Women’s Resources Center which provided women with treatment and crisis intervention through awareness and activist groups. After graduating from Virginia Tech, Ashley took a position as a group facilitator for the state of Virginia’s only sex offender treatment facility. There she gained experience in sex offender treatment and working with the adult population who had coexisting mental illnesses.

In August 2005, Ashley joined the National Counseling Group, Inc. as a community based counselor and helped to grow the Mental Health Support Services program for adults. In 2006, she was selected as NCG’s Counselor of the year and was promoted to supervisor in 2007. In May of 2009, Ashley was promoted to Site Director for the newest office of National Counseling Group in Petersburg, VA. Ashley currently serves on the Petersburg FAPT team, is the representative for the Local Human Rights Committee, and Ambassador of the Petersburg Chamber of Commerce. Ashley continues to be dedicated to the client’s and families in which our community based program serves.
