Qualified Mental Health Provider
Larry is a graduate of Virginia State University’s Master’s of Education program with concentration in School Counseling. He has an undergraduate degree in General Sociology also from Virginia State University. His background primarily includes working with children and adults living with mental health issues. He has worked with this population in the public school and community based settings. Larry incorporates humor to implement Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy in his work with this population to assist the clients to recognize the inconsistencies between identified goals and problematic behaviors. Larry has utilized these techniques to assist clients to overcome social ills such as incarceration/recidivism, illiteracy, domestic violence, homelessness, unemployment, and mental illness. His goal is to empower clients to achieve their individualized perception of success.
